Welcome to my blog.  Today I am sharing a card idea I have had kickin’ around in my head lately. I wanted to try and create a card that only used white and gray.  The result, I feel, was a card that has a soft peaceful vibe to it.

With limiting my colors to white and gray I felt I needed to step up the texture of the card so it didn’t feel bland.  To add the desired texture I used the new Painted Texture 3D folder and the Art Gallery two step stamp set.

I used Smoky Slate to stamp my flower.  I took the bolder stamp and stamped it off three times on scratch paper then stamped it onto my Whisper White.  I then took the “detail” image and stamped it off just twice on the scratch paper and then stamped it over the bold image.  I also stamped the stem in Smoky Slate, stamping it off twice before taking it to my Whisper White.  I die cut both with the matching dies.

For the greeting I stamped and embossed it in White onto Smoky Slate card stock.  I then die cut it with one of the “postage” stamp label dies.

I added vellum under the flower to help it pop off the background and frame it a bit.  Dimensionals underneath the flower and the greeting also help it pop as well.

Lastly, I added a few white sequins to embellish it and add some more texture.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!
