Today I would like to share with you three cards I made from one sketch idea. The sketch gave me a starting point and I found this a fun way to play with different products and try different looks. Sometimes when I try this exercise, you can’t even tell they started out as the same layout.
The first card uses the World of Good suite from the new 2020-2021 Annual Catalog. I used Cinnamon Cider, Very Vanilla, Crumb Cake, and Soft Suede card stock for the paper. I kept the colors vintage looking and love how the antique corners look with these colors. With this card I used the corners as arrows to change it up a bit.
This Forever Fern card is a great example of how a monochromatic card doesn’t have to be bland. The shades of green create an elegant look and the DisINKtive style images give the leaves a hand painted look. I used Soft Sea Foam as the card base and one of the leaf die cuts, Whisper White for the accent behind the leaves, and Shaded Spruce for the stamped image.
This last card I used the Celebrate Sunflowers bundle. I colored the sunflowers using the Stampin’ Blends and die cut them with the matching dies. The papers I used were the Misty Moonlight, Whisper White, and Flowers for Every Season DSP.
This exercise was fun and I think a good way to stretch yourself a bit creatively. I hope you will give it a try and share your results, I would love to see them. If you like this idea, join me this Saturday at 10am here for a live stream. I will be streaming from Twitch and showing how you can get even more from this layout.
