I have a confession….I love snowmen and snow…and snowflakes. Especially when they are found in paper crafting. When I saw the Let It Snow suite in the holiday catalog I resisted buying it for around 30 seconds. The colors, the images, the beautiful paper, all of it just got me so excited to create. Today, I am sharing one of the cards I made.
This simple holiday card would be a great option if you like to make your own cards for friends and family for the holidays. I started with one of the sketches from my Developing Creativity Class – Let’s Get Sketchy.
The card base is a piece of 8 1/2 x 5 1/2 Coastal Cabana card stock with a layer of the Let It Snow Specialty DSP measured at 4 x 5 1/4.
I stamped my cute snowman in Tuxedo black ink and colored in with our Stampin’ blend makers (you could us Stampin’ Write marker also). I took a smoky slate marker and just shaded a bit on the left side. I then punched out the snowman, his twig arms, and hat using the matching punch.
I stamped the plaid image from the Tiny Keepsakes stamp set and die cut with a stitched oval shape, the second largest oval in the set. I took the largest stitched oval and die cut a whisper white card stock to layer behind the plaid stamped oval.
I layered the DSP onto the card base followed up with a 1 x 4 piece of the Real Red Glimmer paper. I next adhered the whisper white oval piece with dimensionals to the card front. I attached the plaid oval to the whisper white ova then added the snowman with dimensionals. I stamped the greeting in Real Red ink onto a piece of 5/8 x 3 1/4 whisper white and adhered to the front. Seriously, can’t resist the cute snowman!
