Hey Beautiful People!
I am stopping by today with a cute little butterfly card. I know that butterflies are the rage right now and I generally try to stay away from what everyone else is doing, but I couldn’t resist a little dabbling into the whimsical. This card looks elegant and even better its is simple to make. With a few steps you are on your way. Also, it would be easy to switch out colors too, in case you are not a fan of pink.
I first die cut a piece of card stock with the Butterfly Beauty Thinlits. I then used the die cut butterflies as a stencil with my ink pad and sponge dauber. The Vellum card stock is over-layed on top of of the stenciling. I then took one of the butterfly images from the Butterfly Gala stamp set and inked it up with Petal Pink. Using another sponge dauber I daubed a bit of Flirty Flamingo on the edges and in the middle. Be careful not to daub it too much or you will end up with all one color. Once the Butterfly was inked and stamped I used the matching punch to punch the image out. I also die cut some tiny pink butterflies. Stampin’ Up! made this so efficient. They included multiplies of the same tiny butterfly dies so I only had to one pass through the big shot and I had several butterflies to embellish my card. I also die cut two sizes of stitched circles from the Petal Pink card stock and Whisper White. I stamped “hello” in Gray Granite ink towards the bottom of the Whisper White stitched circle.
Assembling the card is a snap. I adhered the Whisper White stitched circle to the Petal Pink stitched circle and attached them both to the vellum. Using a glue dot I added the large butterfly. The tiny butterflies were added with some liquid glue and a Take Your Pick Tool. Now we can’t have butterflies without a bit of glimmer! So, of course, I added Wink of Stella to the butterflies. That’s when everything came alive. 😉
