Howdy Paper Crafters!
I am coming at you with a few ideas to get your inspiration on this week. The first is to catch up on the great challenges that have been submitted the lately and a Dragonfly card that will have you dreaming of spring….ok that was me dreaming.
I want to thank Michele and Bobbie for sharing their cards with us. Michele tried her had successfully at the Stampin’ Blends with her card.
Bobbie used the woodland embossing folder and added color to the raised design helping the trees to “pop”.
I would like to share a cute little dragonfly card that goes along with the challenge a bit. The technique is one I have wanted to try.
I adhered the DSP (4″ x 5 1/4″) to the card front and then used a craft knife to cut out a slit for the dragonfly to fit through. The dragonfly is mounted to the inside of the card with a thin strip of foam adhesive. I added a few little dragonflies that were punched out of vellum card stock. The greeting was stamped in Tuxedo Black ink and die cut with one of the dies from the Potted Succulents Dies set. To anchor the greeting a bit I added a layer of coordinating DSP (4″ x 1 1/4″) behind it.
When the card is closed the dragonfly can show on the front and as you open the card the dragonfly slips through the opening in the card front, remaining on the inside.
When you want to close the card again you just pinch the wings together and thread them back through the opening again. This Dragonfly Garden set is a fun set to create with. I hope you give it a try!
