Howdy Crafty Friends!

How are you doing?  Are you snowed in like me?  We aren’t totally snowed in, but close. If my husband didn’t have a giant truck, we would be completely stuck but not only does he have a giant truck he lives for this kind of weather.  Having received his weather driving training in Alaska as a young adult, he is very prepared for the snow-covered roads we have right now.  Me? I’m not a big fan of driving in it, but I will if I must. How about you?  Do you love or hate driving in snowy weather?  I will say I love the blanket of snow on everything from the ground to the trees.  It makes spotting one of my favorite birds a lot easier, the red cardinal.  I love the pop of red they provide amidst the white covered landscape. Makes me smile to see their bright red feathers.  While we were hanging out at home keeping warm, I counted eight pappa cardinals! We have been putting seed out for all the birds and it has been enjoyable watching them.  I’m not the only one, Watson, our gray tabby loves to watch for them as well.  I would imagine it is like watching ESPN for cats.  Sometimes he will even do his super cool bird call.

I did manage to complete a fun project before being snowed in.  I finished a calendar for my daughter.  She loves plants and I really wanted to create one for her that would help her remember that I love her. So, I broke out a couple of my plant themed stamp sets, one of them new this month, and another an old favorite.  I also added a little sentiment to each month.  I got those I got from Altenew and Concord & 9th as Stampin’ up didn’t have the ones I was looking for.

I mounted each month on a coordinating color of card stock and then used my cinch machine to bind it together with a wire coil.  The calendar is rigid enough to stand on its own or she can choose to hang it on the wall if she likes.  Either way I think she will like it, at least I hope she does. 😉

Here are the supplies and a link to the PDF of the calendar in case you would like to print and create one of your own.  Have fun! 🤩
